Artist Statement
Statement
My work focuses on giving form to the worlds, images, and languages that media brings to the fore. I see the analog realm made of atoms and DNA and the digital realm built from bits as complementary. Standing on the boundary between the inside and outside of media, my practice brings together symbolic images, representations of signs, and informational simulations. I express these ideas using both low- and high-tech methods—light, lasers, holography, painting and drawing, new media, and sculptural media.
